about
I've always liked Malon. She's got a cute character design, a bright personality, and is the wonderful character behind the nickname "Fairy Boy." I always enjoyed meeting her in OoT, in a world full of monsters and random, creepy, evil stuff, she was a welcome presence. Seeing her pop up in future games was something I liked as well; I seriously went "EEE!" when I first talked to her in Minish Cap and heard the beginning of Epona's song. But anyway!

I really think there ought to be more dedications to LoZ characters on the 'net. It's such a popular series, full of interesting concepts and themes, but there aren't many character shrines online. I first got the idea of creating a tribute to Malon after one of my favorite sites went offline. "Cowgirl" was a Malon shrine at the lovely digitalshock.org, but that domain died and the site along with it. I finally got to actually working on this site after I was approved for the fanlisting.
sunrise?
I chose the name "Sunrise" for a few reasons. First, I think it describes Malon's "sunny" personality. Second, I used to find myself running around frantically in Hyrule Field at night, and then running for refuge at the Lon Lon Ranch once the sun rose. (I kind of suck at OoT). And, um, Malon has orange hair. Sunrises are orange-y :>.

current layout
The current layout here features a somewhat creepy sprite of Malon from OoT and an image from the manga. And it's pink and orange because I really can't find a better color scheme for Malon. Heh. I used a few textures from hybrid-genesis and patterns from squidfingers. Also features a quote from Sheik, because she has the best lines in the game. Period.
credits
Many images came from Zelda Legends, as did much of the information, which also came from The Grand Adventures and wikipedia. Any other information was collected from the actual games and manga.
